The first thing to check with any LoS is what the lights on the ONT show:
Power β If the power light is off, confirm the socket is live before referring the issue to APFN to replace the ONT.
PON - If the PON light is not solid green, it suggests the ONT has no fibre signal. The steps to try to resolve the issue are:
Make sure the fibre cable is firmly connected into the ONT.
Reset the ONT.
If the issue persists after these steps, get in touch with us.
10GE β If the 10GE light is not coming on, it indicates that there is no connection between the ONT and the router.
This could be due to the 10GE port on the ONT, or the cable, being faulty.
Make sure you have the router connected to the 10GE port and not the GE port. You can try a different cable if you have one.
To resolve a 10GE port fault on the ONT:
Turn off the ONT using ON/OFF button (bottom right-hand side of unit)
Unplug Ethernet from 10GE
Unplug/ Power OFF Router/Plume
Leave both devices off for at least 2 minutes to allow the cache to clear
Turn ONT back on via the power button
Wait for Power & PON to become solid Green (can take a few minutes)
Plug Ethernet back into 10GE Port - this cable can fit into both the GE and 10GE port, it needs to go into the 10GE because the GE port is disabled
At this point, please watch closely to ensure that the lights did not go out again and start flashing. If they did, disconnect the cable again until the PON goes solid green and reconnect.
