Plume SuperPod

If you're a former Swish customer, you'll probably have one or more of these in your home.

Updated today

Plume SuperPods are used as the router and the extenders. Former Swish customers are likely to have used this when they joined.

Here's a quick overview of what they do and what to do if something has gone wrong:

Default Router

The Plume SuperPod was one of Swish’s core router/mesh devices.

Dual Use

The same SuperPod model is used both as a main router and as mesh extenders. They can connect via Ethernet or more commonly via WiFi.

Ethernet Ports

Each SuperPod has two 1Gbps Ethernet ports.

One is always used to connect to the ONT (Optical Network Terminal), leaving only one spare port for other devices.

There is no dedicated ONT port—either port can be used.

Design Considerations

The SuperPod plugs directly into a power socket, which can lead to poor WiFi performance if placed behind furniture or in obstructed areas.

Technology

This variant of the SuperPod uses older WiFi 5 technology, unlike newer devices like the eero which may support WiFi 6.

LED Indicator

The LED light on the SuperPod is off when connected and functioning normally. If the LED is on, it indicates the device is trying to connect, is not connected, or there is an issue.
