Create a new password for Internet Only

This is for a single use password that expires as soon as the session ends.

Updated over a week ago

Multiple passwords can be used under a single WPA2 SSID. Internet-only WiFi passwords do not allow local network access and can be set to expire automatically when they are no longer needed. This added peace of mind makes them ideal for sharing with guests and other visitors.

Note: Multiple passwords are not supported for the WPA3 SSID. If you only have a WPA3 SSID, a WPA2 WiFI network needs to be created for internet-only access.

  1. Open the Network page.

  2. Under the Connectivity tab, tap on the WPA2 Passwords tile.

  3. Open the Internet-only tab and tap on Create internet-only password.

    • The Internet-only tab is only visible when the WPA2 password is chosen.

  4. Enter the Internet-only password.

    • Passwords need to be 8-63 characters long.

    • Combinations of upper and lower-case letters, numbers, and special characters will make the WiFi password more secure.

    • WiFi passwords cannot contain the following characters: ö,ä,ü,ß

  5. Choose when you want the password to expire and tap on Create.
