We've tried to keep our bills as simple as possible, but everyone has questions about their first one. This article should answer most of them.
When will I get my first bill?
You'll receive your first bill 24 hours after your service starts, and the Direct Debit payment will be processed within the next 10 days, unless that's a weekend or Bank Holiday (in that case, it would be the next working day after).
So, if your service kicked off on the 1st, expect your first payment around the 12th. After that, your bill will be with you on the 1st, with payment due around the 12th of every month.
How is my first bill calculated?
Usually, we'll start billing you the day after your installation, but if your service started between the 28th and the end of the month, your first invoice might be slightly higher. Here's why:
It's a little bit more because you're being charged for the days between when your service went live and the start of your official billing month (1st of the month). Next month's bill will return to your expected monthly amount.
To calculate your bill:
Your monthly total is calculated, based on your speed package, any equipment and service costs (all of which are inclusive of VAT). If your 'Go live' date was between the 1st and 28th of the month, you pay the monthly charge in advance.
If your 'Go live' date was between the 28th and the end of the month:
1. We start by dividing your standard monthly charge by the number of days in the previous month to find a daily rate.
2. Then, we multiply this daily rate by the number of days you're being billed for, which can be between 1 to 4 days depending on the month's length.
3. This amount is then added to your standard monthly bill.
