Sometimes, Plume Home's Security features (Ad blocking, Online defense, and Content filtering) may block access to a site you need access to. For example, you may subscribe to a streaming service that requires access to an ad server to function properly, or a site your child needs to access for their school work may be blocked by their Content filter setting. In these cases, Plume Home allows you to approve a website for a single Profile or all Profiles. A total of 100 websites can be added to the Approved list.
Approving a blocked website
These steps are to unblock or approve a website blocked in the last 30 days by Plume Home's Security or Content filtering features.
Open the Network page.
Under the Connectivity tab, scroll down and tap on Security.
Adjust the filters for the Events list:
By default, the number displayed on the Filter counts all devices assigned to Profiles on the network and can be left as-is if approving the site for everyone.
If you only want to approve the site for a single Profile, tap on Filter. On the next page, tap Unselect all, and select only the desired Profile and Apply.
Unless the blocked event happened in the last 24 hours, switch the tab to 30 days.
The Events list should now display all Security and Content filtering events according to the filters set in the previous step. Select the event with the domain or IP you want to approve.
In the pop-up, select the approval option.
Approve for _____ Profile - This option is only available when the filter is set for a single profile.
Approve for all Profiles
Adding websites directly to the Approved list
These steps allow you to add a website to the Approved list before it has been blocked by Security or Content filters.
Open the Network page.
Under the Connectivity tab, scroll down and tap on Security.
Tap the button on the top right of the Security page to open the Options menu.
Select Approved and Blocked list from the pop-up.
While under the Approved tab, adjust the filters:
The All profiles option is preselected. If you want this site approved for everyone, just close the Filter window and go to the next step.
If you want this rule to apply to specific people, select the people you want and then tap on Apply.
The sites shown in the Approved list are based on the filters selected.
With the filter set, tap on the + button on the top right of the page.
Depending on what you want to approve, select Domain, IPv4, IPv6.
Enter the domain or server IP address of the site you want to add and tap on Approve.
Full domain names are required for websites. For example, make sure to write "youtube.com" instead of "youtube".
Removing sites from the Approved list
Sites can be easily removed from the Approved list by selecting them and tapping on Delete item, however, the sites shown in the Approved list are based on the filters set. This means that if a site was approved for a single Profile, you need to filter the Approved list for that Profile to see it.
