Content filtering levels
The Content filtering level applies to all devices assigned to the Profile:
Restricted - Sensitive content not appropriate for kids 12 and under will be blocked, including adult content, dating, and self-harm.
Moderate - Moderate - Sensitive content not appropriate for teens 13-17 will be blocked, including adult content, gambling, dating, and self-harm.
Light - Some sensitive content for adults 18+ will be blocked.
None - Adult content without filters. No content will be blocked.
Additional considerations for Content filtering
Content filtering and other Plume Home security features will not work if Data Access has been disabled.
Devices capable of using a Private/Random MAC Address instead of their hardware MAC may lose their Profile assignment if the MAC changes while connected to the Plume Home network. To ensure all features that depend on Profile assignment, such as Security and Focuses, you should disable the Private Address feature on devices connected to Plume Home.
Applying Content filters to a profile
Setting the Content filter is part of the flow when creating a Profile. However, you can always change the Content filter for pre-existing Profiles.
Open the Profiles page in the Plume Home app.
Under the People or Groups tabs, swipe to find the Profile you want to edit.
Tap on the Profile's portrait.
Select the Edit security policies option from the pop-up menu.
Tap on the current Content filtering level and choose the new one.
Tap the Save button.
What is seen by the end-user when their content is blocked?
Content that was restricted by our security feature is displayed whenever you see the “Access to this website is blocked” message displayed in your browser window.
Note: This only appears for HTTP sites; HTTPS sites prevent this and display the browser's default "can't be reached" message. HTTPS connections cannot be redirected to the HTTP-blocked page because it would break the secure trusted SSL connection.
